I've seen two kinds of people reacting to whats happened. The ones who are touched, angered, moved and frustrated with politicians and the way things are being dealt with and the rest who seem so bloody nonchalant on whats happened. Ashamed to say some of the latter are people from our own country. I can understand my flatmates who have never asked us how things were back home inspite of the half a dozen blasts in India in the past year, but someone who is not bothered about their own country, community and tribe, somewhat drives me crazy.
A friend of mine told someone: "Did you hear about the blasts ? Its so devastating, no ? "
His friend replied: "So what. This always happens. Lets just do our project."
He was as perplexed as I am. Is he waiting for something to happen to his near and dear ones for him to change his attitude.

i wanted to ask.. how's everything.. but wasn't sure if it was appropriate (for whatever reasons) or if asking would make me appear insensitive and inconsiderate..
but hope your family and friends are all fine back home. :)
hey thanks for asking :)
all fine back home but someone my friend knew (2nd hop) wasn't quite lucky. its been very disturbing and I hope, both countries do NOT go for an all out war.
Well, though the 2nd guy's reaction was a little inhuman, I don't blame him. Tell me haven't blasts become a daily grind for India and esp. Mumbaikars? So much so that small blasts around nation don't even warrant a mention in news anymore! Politicians have been throwing sh!t at as under 'Spirit of Mumbai, see it is back on foot the next day'. The reaction should not be seen in contempt, I think it should be used as an eye-opening tool. Indian life is so freaking cheap, that no body cares. And that's why this time terrorists targeted foreign nationals.
Well, I do hope everything is fine for your dear ones out there in Mumbai.
@Shaolin,
Ya. True, blasts are so commonplace these days. And you rightly said, life so bloody cheap here in our country.
Most of my folks are in Vile Parle (E). All safe. Hope the same is with your folks out there.
